"There is only one thing on Earth that lasts forever: knowledge."
I am a passionate Compliance Professional with many years of experience working for international companies in Europe and international organizations including the United Nations. During my career, I led compliance projects in the field of compliance risk assessment, data analytics, ESG, international sanctions (UN, EU,OFAC) and compliance trainings. I implemented internal approval systems, third party management system and whistleblowing hotline.
I am a speaker at several conferences in Europe and the United States such as BrightTALK, BACEE Conferences, Trade Compliance Techforum or Evintel. In addition, I also held guest lectures at University Heidelberg in Germany and Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand about business ethics and human rights protection. Upon request, I contributed to a research project at Harvard Business School with the focus of compliance risk assessment and predictive analysis.
In my free time, I am a novelist focusing on topics, which move the world forward such as technology or artificial intelligence, yet raise ethical questions. My debut detective fiction novel was selected as Distinguished Favorite by Independent Press Award in Category Thriller in 2026.
Adrian Sandberg
Editor-in-Chief
With more than 20 years of experience, my professional journey spans Europe, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and international business environments. As Director of Internal Investigation, I have been responsible for designing and strengthening investigation frameworks, managing whistleblowing processes, advising on remediation measures, and ensuring that organizations respond to ethical challenges with fairness, transparency, and accountability. Before moving into corporate investigations, I worked as a prosecutor and litigator, handling complex criminal, regulatory, and commercial matters, including major fraud cases, government investigations, and public law proceedings.
Beyond my professional work, I have a deep passion for history and politics and spend much of my personal time studying the forces that have shaped nations, societies, and global affairs. I believe that understanding the past is essential to making responsible decisions in the present.
For centuries, my family’s coat of arms motto was Serva fidem (meaning "we serve faithfully") which also shaped my identity over the years. These values define my approach to leadership, investigations, and the responsibility entrusted to me by organizations and people. Because we have to commit ourselves to stand for integrity.
